GUNTER - Graveside services for Raymond Edwin Payne, 84-year-old Gunter resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 at Whitaker Cemetery. Mr. Payne passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at Medical Center of McKinney.
Officiating will be L.D. Byrd and Dennis Garner.
Mr. Payne was born on June 18, 1924 in Gunter, son of Edwin Payne and Mary Elizabeth Lee Payne. On Nov. 15, 1947, he married Mary Green in McKinney.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Payne of Gunter; one daughter, Linda Anderson and her husband, Richard of Gunter; son, Larry Payne and his wife, Sue of Abilene; grandchildren, Michael Riley, Kristi Hulsey, Jennifer Woodcraft, Heather Payne, Lori Payne, Tamara and Jason; seven great-grandchildren and sisters, Gene Knox of Gunter; Mary Elizabeth Glascock of Arizona.
