Mrs. Esther Young, 73, a former Lehigh resident, died at Mercy Hospital, Friday morning following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services to be held at 1:00 Monday afternoon at the Christian Church in Lehigh, Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at Lehigh.

The Laufersweller funeral home of Fort Dodge is in charge of the funeral arrangements. The body will be at the funeral home, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Saturday. The body will be taken from the funeral home to the church in Lehigh at 12:00 Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Young the former Esther Bailey was born on Nov. 20, 1883 in Worth county, Missouri, and came to Iowa with her parents the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bailey as a child. The Baileys settled in Boone county and she received her education in the rural schools near Boone.

She was married to Isac Russell Young on Sept. 7, 1900 in Hamilton County and they settled on a farm near Lehigh. Mr. Young died in 1933 and Mrs. Young moved to Fort Dodge, in 1940.

Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Trini Madina, of Des Moines, Mrs. George Potter, of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Emmett Nichols, of Fort Dodge, and Mrs. Lester Prine of Des Moines; a son Albert Young of Pomeroy; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, four brothers, Richard Bailey of Fort Dodge, George Bailey of Minneapolis, Cleve and Tom Bailey of Lehigh; and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Fye of Webster City, and Mrs. Claude Harrah of Eagle Grove.

Her husband, two sons, two daughters, and her parents proceeded her in death.
