William Harvey Grubbs was the only child of Silas Columbus Grubbs and Sallie E. (Smith) Grubbs.

William's mother died when he was only 4 years old and then his father died a little over 2 months later. It is believed by family historians that they both died of Typhoid Pneumonia.

William was 19 years old when he joined in marriage with Virginia Johnson on Dec. 27, 1906. Virginia was also age 19. To this union was born 2 children, Mildred, born 1908, and William Harvey II, born on Sept. 3, 1911.

William died only 1 month and 26 days after his baby boy was born. Cause of Death was from a blood disorder. William was only 24 years old. His wife, Virginia, never remarried and lived to age 79.
