Emil Bluhm, age 90, of West, passed away late Wednesday afternoon, February 25, 2015 at his residence.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at Aderhold Funeral Home in West from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Private memorial services will be held at a later date at Bluhming Acres.
Emil was born November 5, 1924 near West, the son of Otto and Hulda (Banik) Bluhm. He attended schools in Ross and West. On November 1, 2003 he was united in marriage to Emma Jayne (Welch) Cordell in Gerald. Emil was a supervisor at the Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Waco for over 30 years until his retirement in the early 1980's. He was also a farmer and rancher. He enjoyed antique tractors, raising cattle and working his land. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Gerald.
Emil is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Wilma Lehman, Elda Huse, and Annie King; and a step son, Dale Cordell.
Survivors include his wife of 11 years, Emma Jayne Bluhm of West; step children, Charles Cordell and wife Mary Kay of Emmett, Gail English and husband Jerry of Frost, Gary Cordell and wife Keri of Woodbury, and Kevin Cordell and wife Julie of Itasca; 15 step grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including Ron Huse and wife Brenda; and several other relatives and friends.
