SANDY RIDGE — Elois Clark Amos, 75, of 6538 NC Hwy. 704, East, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, as a result of injuries from an automobile accident.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2009, at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Amos Cemetery.

Mrs. Amos was born July 6, 1933, in Rockingham County, to the late Joseph Henry Clark and Annie Clarice Amos Clark. She was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and WMU, taught Sunday school, and worked with the children's choir and story hour. She loved traveling on bus tours, crossword puzzles, reading, charity work, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Aldean Amos, Sr.; brother Melvin Clark; and sisters, Dot C. Smith and Louise C. Shaffer.

Survivors include sons, Thomas Aldean "Tommy" Amos, Jr., of Madison, and Ted Wayne Amos, Sr. (Cindy), of Sandy Ridge; daughters, Jeanette Amos Cox (Johnny), of Sanford, Iris Amos Mudd (Robert), of Walnut Cove, Joyce Ann Amos Dodson (Danard), and Michelle "Cricket" Amos-Wall (Robbie) , all of Sandy Ridge; brother, Howard Clark (Edna), of Madison; grandchildren, Aleshia Amos, Chelsea and Matthew Mudd, Kyra Dodson, Gwendolyn "Peanut" Amos-Wall, Wayne and Brianna Amos, and Morgan Cox.
