Herbert G. Ahrens

Dr. Herbert G. Ahrens, 81, of Lincoln died Thursday, August 27, 1998, at Lincoln.

Herbert was born in Scribner.

He was a graduate of Scribner High School, Wayne State Teachers College, and UNO Colllege of Medicine. He took specialty training in Internal Medicine from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Mn.

He practiced medicine in Scribner, Worthington, Mn., and Lincoln. Herbert was a co-founder of East Lincoln Internal Medicine. In 1985, he retired from practicing medicine.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, A.M.A.-American Society of Internal Medicine, American Legion Post #3, and WWII Army Veteran - Service in Medical Corp.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Ahrens of Lincoln; two sons, Dr. Martin and wife Carol Ahrens of Manning, Ia., Lyle and wife Lori Ahrens of Klamath Falls, Or. two daughters, Ceclia and husband Ron Johnson of
Boseman, Mt,. Gayle and husband Barry Blunck of Thousnad Oaks, Ca.; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; and cousins.

Funeral services were held Auugust 31 at Roper & Sons Mortuuary at 4300 '0' Street in Lincoln. Pastor Wallace Wolff officiated. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Hooper.

Memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church, 225 Washington, Lincoln, or St. Paul Lutheran Church rural Hooper.
