Daughter of Adolph Wehnert and his first wife Mary Nagel who died in childbirth in Agnew, Lancaster county, Nebraska when Bertha was two years old, her baby sister Mary Wehnert lived for 5 months, then died too and is buried at the Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln Nebraska.
Bertha was half sister of Elmo Adolph Wehnert.

Bertha married Fred H. Fix 4-19-1911 in Centerville, Nebraska at the German Methodist Church and had their son Carl Elmo Fix in Portland Oregon, 5-21-1912.

Aunt Bertha's second husband was Levi W. Hunt (from Eddyville Oregon) whom she married in 1921, with whom she spent many happy years in Portland Oregon, where Uncle Lee was a streetcar operator.
