Final rites for Benjamin F. Bird, 70, of 416 1/2 S. Fourth street, will be at 2:30 Thursday at the Kroeger funeral home. The Reverend Paul Winder will officiate and burial wll be in Mt. Hope cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. His death occurred at 12:18 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's hospital. He was a retired Wabash railroad cook. A native of Cass county he was born July 23, 1884, son of John W. and Estella Rhinehart Bird.

Survivors are his wife, Dora; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Le Croix, city; two grandchildren; a brother, Charles, Mishawaka; three sisters: Mrs. Hatie Taylor, city; Mrs. Eva Barrett, Mishawaka; Mrs. Ruby Coss, Richmond, Va.
