The Abolitionist. He was a conductor on the Underground Railroad in Boiling Springs, Cumberland, Co., Pennsylania. He was sued by a Maryland slave owner in 1847, lost the case, and was ordered to pay restitution and court costs of about $4000. He is also responsible for laying out the village of Boiling Springs in 1845.

He and his wife Catherine had two children, Anna D. and Spangler.
