Asheville Citizen Times Wed Oct 22, 1975 - Faraday M. Hipps - Faraday M. Hipps, 77, of Candler, died Tue in a Madison Co rest home after a long illness. A native of Madison Co and a Buncombe Co resident most of his life, he was a retired employee of Southern Bell Telephone Co and an Army veteran of WWI. He was a son of the late Judson and Bertha Meadows Hipps. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Edith Snyder Hipps of Canton; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Wright of Waynesville; and four brothers, Roy and Jack Hipps of Candler, Jay Hipps of Norfolk, VA and Bill Hipps of Tryon. Services will be held at 2 pm Thur in Groce Funeral Chapel. The Revs Vernon Hall and Albert Wellons will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Wed at the funeral home.
