Milford Alva Admire, 88, Council Grove, died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the Council Grove Healthcare Center.

Milford was born August 10, 1917 at Hiawatha to John W. and Havilah (Howe) Admire. He came to Council Grove in 1929. He was graduated from Council Grove High School with the class of 1935; from there he moved to Ellsworth and opened a photography studio. It was there he met his wife Faye Ellen Donley; they were married February 14, 1941. Milford was selected in the first Ellsworth County draft and was called to active duty. He served four and a half years in the United State Army during World War II in both the European and Pacific theaters. Upon his discharge the family moved back to Council Grove where he purchased the family photography studio and operated it for forty some years. Taking pictures of many generations in the surrounding area.

He is survived by his wife Faye of the home, one son Brad Admire of Emporia, six grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great–great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Jeaninne Sullivan, two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the First Congregational Church in Council Grove with interment to follow in the Sunny Slope Memorial Garden Cemetery. Mr. Admire will lie in state from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Council Grove Chapel where family and friends will gather from 7:00 – 8:30 PM that night. The family has requested memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church.
