LAURA ANN TORREY born August 22, 1865, to Lafayette Torrey and Elizabeth Ann Simmons Torrey; married W. F. Gleason Jan. 2, 1883, in Putnam County, Missouri. Died December 6, 1939, age 74 years, 4 months, and 15 days. Mother of four sons, three daughters; grandmother of 25 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. Children are Ira and Milo Gleason (Cundiff), Wilburn (Truscott), Mrs. O. R. Elson (Dodge City, Kansas), Mrs. H. W. Creel (Newcastle), Mrs. W. D. Hale (Jacksboro); one son Frederick Gleason died May 23, 1922. Husband W. F. Gleason, died March 2, 1937. Two brothers and two sisters survive: John Torrey (Powersville, Missouri), Milo E. Torrey (Pickering, Missouri), Lora Tingley (Clinton, Arkansas), Mrs. Elsie Skipper (Powersville, Missouri), a sister-in-law, Mrs. Frederick Torrey (Powersville), an aunt, Mrs. Susie M. Lincoln, (Pickering, Missouri).

Funeral and burial, December 7, 1939, Cundiff.

The Gleason family ran a general store in the townsite of Cundiff.
