3 NEW YORKERS DROWN IN SOUND

EAST LYME, Conn. (AP) – The bodies of two New York State women who apparently drowned were pulled from Long Island Sound Wednesday by five fishermen, state police said.
They added that the body of a man believed to be the husband of one of the women was found about 7 a.m. today in the same area.
He was tentatively identified as Claude Gadbois, 56, of Livingston Manor, a Sullivan County, N.Y., community.
The women were identified by state police as Rena Gadbois, in her 50’s, and Nellie Kennelly, in her 50’s, both from Livingston Manor.
Troopers said the women’s bodies were found at 4:30 p.m. by fishermen about 150 yards off Black Point and that in a subsequent police and Coast Guard search, a 14-foot aluminum boat was found Wednesday night, overturned about a quarter-mile away.
Police said they traced identities through the boat registration and that the New Yorkers apparently were visiting relatives in the area.
