First baby born in Nebraska City

Mrs. Melissa Bennet Nuckolls, who died last evening at the residence of her husband, Emmet Nuckolls, was the daughter of Isaiah H. Bennet, and born at Bellevue, Nebraska, being the first white child born in that Territory. She was the niece of H. P. Bennet, of this city, who educated her at Georgetown when he was in Congress. She came to this Territory in 1866, and is now cut off at the early age of twenty-six, leaving a large circle of friends. The funeral services will be held at the Lawrence street Methodist church at half past 10 o'clock tomorrow morning, the 15th, to which all friends are invited.
