Born Oct. 17, 1923, in Presque Isle, Maine, she was raised on the family potato farm in East Corinth, Maine, and lived in Penacook for many years.
During World War II, she worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, settled in Penacook after the war with her war veteran husband, Chuck Paire, to raise a family, and was a longtime supervisor at Beede Electrical Instrument Company in Penacook until retirement.
She enjoyed wintering in Spain, Portugal and Florida with second husband Sam Giaimo, loved to knit sweaters for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, read avidly, and liked to play cards and dance.
Her surviving family includes two daughters, Karen Paire Benson and her husband, Peter, of Moody, Maine, and Sandra Paire Brodeur and her husband, Edward, of Boscawen; grandson Peter Charles Benson and his wife, Michelle, of Contoocook, and their children Kelsie, Kendall, Courtney, Peter II, Hayden and Steven; grandson Jeffery R. Benson and his wife, Cynthia, of Bedford, and their sons Ty, Gage and Cole; granddaughter Meredith Delvanie Brodeur of Palm Coast, Fla.; two sisters, Helen Speed of Limrick, Maine and Marjorie Elliott of Webster; her brother, Thomas J. Achorn of Boscawen; her loyal friend Rita Easler of Boscawen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was the daughter of the late John W. and Hazel (Easler) Larlee. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles H. Paire; and her second husband, Rosario A. Giaimo.
Calling hours will be today from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home with the Rev. John Westhaver of the United Church of Penacook, officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetary in Penacook.
