Caribou – James E. Argraves, 71, died at a local nursing home Tuesday, September 1, 1959, after a long illness. He was born in Caribou May 15, 1888, the son of James and Annie (Walton) Argraves. He was a farmer for many years at Green Ridge, a World War 1 Veteran and a member of the Gray Memorial Methodist Church.
Mr. Argraves is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Dora Bell of Portland, Mrs. Margaret Johnson and Mrs. Jean Johnson, both of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Ella Bailey and Mrs. Alta Wright, both of Caribou, and Mrs. Grace Bushey of Glendale, Calif.; two brothers, Thomas of Stockholm and Newman of New Haven, Conn.
Funeral services will be conducted in Morgan's Funeral Home Chapel Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Otto Palmer, pastor of the Woodland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Green Ridge.
