Federal Judge John Bright died suddenly, at his home, on March 24th.He was born in Middletown, a son of Frank and Ellen Higham Bright.
Judge Bright's record of service covered a period of more than 40 years. He began the study of Law in 1902.He was appointed to the Federal Court of the Southern District of New York in 1941.
He was past president of the Middletown and Orange county Bar Associations. He also held many other posts in the town and county.
He is survived by his wife,Mrs. Cornelia Denton Bright , whom he married May 24, 1909, a son, John D, grandchildren Susannah and John 3rd Bright, and brothers Frank and Ellis Bright.
