Joseph Hoskins Potter Sr., age 87, a lifetime resident of Fairhope, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009. Joe was a veteran of WWII and Korean War. He retired from Chevron USA after 28 years. He also worked many years as the bookkeeper at City Market, and was known to many as the "Income Tax Man."
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Florence M. Potter of Fairhope; daughters Mary (Terry) Blair of Fairhope, Ruthie Byrd of Klamath Falls, OR; sons
Joey Potter of Atlanta, GA, Mitchell (Keiko) Potter of Pensacola, FL, John Potter of Longview, WA; sister Nancy (Roy) Adams of Naples. FL; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends. The family will recieve friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home Monday, March 9, 2009, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 10:00 am.
Internment will be in Memory Gardens of Fairhope. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Fish River Baptist Church 1740 County Road 33, Fairhope, AL 36532.
