Mary passed away at the V.A. hospital in Johnson City TN. She succumbed after a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Jerome Idaho to Jack and Marion Newby, both have preceded her in death. She was raised in Wells Nevada where she graduated from high school. While based in Anchorage Alaska she met and married Michael Arneberg. They eventually settled in Bemidji Minnesota where they welcomed a daughter, McKena, and a son Andrew. Mary attended BSU in Bemidji where she graduated with a bachelor's degree. Mike and Mary divorced and Mary returned to Elko. Mary loved to fish and camp and really enjoyed a lively conversation; she was also an avid reader. Mary is survived by her ex-husband Michael, daughter McKena., son Andrew and her grandson Andrés, all of Corryton TN. She is also survived by three sisters, Margaret Tweety of Reno, Eddie (Zane) Morse of Elko, Lorinda (John) Dodge of McHenry IL., and many nieces and nephews. There was no funeral per Mary's request. There was a private memorial held in TN. Prior to cremation. There will be a memorial in Elko at a later date when Mary will be placed with her father at the Veterans Cemetery in Elko. The family asked that any remembrances be made in the form of a donation in Mary's name to the charity of your choice.US ARMY
