William Edward McDaniel, 64, of Plant City, died Tuesday. A former resident of Ironton, Ohio, he had lived in Plant City for 29 years. He was Plant city's fire marshal for 25 years and was a veteran of World War II. He was also past commander of American Legion No. 26, was a member of the Fireman's Association and was of the Lutheran faith. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; a daughter, Cheryl Montgomery of Plant city; a half-brother, George H. of Columbus, Ohio; and two grandchildren. Haynes funeral Home, Plant City.

Graveside services for William Edward "Mac" McDaniel, a resident of West Risk Street, were held July 26 at Hopewell Memorial Gardens with Bishop Jim Fowler officiating. Mr. McDaniel died July 23 at the age of 64. He had been a Plant city resident for 29 years, coming from Ironton, Ohio. He was fire marshal for the city of Plant City for 25 years. After retiring from this post, he was a building contractor. Mr. McDaniel was a member of the Firemen's Association and a past commander of American Legion Post No 26. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include: his wife, Catherine; a daughter, Cheryl Montgomery of Plant City; a half-brother, George McDaniel of Columbus, Ohio, and two grandchildren. Haynes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
