Son of Warner T Drake and Eleanor Roberts Drake.
Married to Gertrude Crane.

Father of Plymouth High school football as well as Wyoming Valley football in general. Responsible for formation of the first PHS football team and served as the first coach, coaching for free. When PIAA ruled that head coaches must be faculty members, John Snoggy Mergo was appointed and Drake continued as assistant.
