Passed peacefully away at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB on February 25, 2009 surrounded by his family, Alfred Gerald Decker, age 70 years, formerly of Centreville, NL.
Predeceased by his parents: Charles and Beryl Decker, daughter: Sandra Decker, brothers: Fred and Lewis Decker, sister: Maude Dean, brothers-in-law: Rick Nachtnabel and Roy Wade.
Leaving to mourn with beautiful and loving memories are his wife: Dorcas Jane (Jean) Decker, son: Richard (Susan) of Hammonds Plains, NS, daughters: Madonna (Edison Mclean) of Waasis, NB, Rhonda (Kenneth O'Quinn) of Rusagonis, NB, Cathy (Nicholas Hughes) of Miramichi, NB, brothers: Melvin (Christine) of Cooks Harbour, NL, Aubrey (Barbara) of Amherstview, Ont, Wilson (Debbie) of Gloucester, Ont, sisters: Caroline (Walter Harding) of Portugal Cove, NL, Hayes Nachtnabel of Spring Branch, Texas, Marjorie Wade of CBS, NL, grandchildren: Edward, Michael (Crystal), Chad (Naomi), Robert, Adam (Myriah), Madelyn, great-grandchildren: Leah, Alexis and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville with Rev. Margaret Hall officiating. Internment followed at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Centreville. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a Charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove/Musgrave Harbour.

Sadly, his grandson Cpl Chad O'Quinn was killed in action in Afghanistan on 3/3/2009.
