"James Buchanan Harrington died Tuesday night at 6 o'clock in the Rosa Curry nursing
home at West Burlington. A patient at the home about a year, he died of infirmities of
age after an illness of two weeks. Most of his life had been spent in Laurens and Otsego
county, except for eighteen years he lived with his son on Long Island. Mr. Harrington
was born April 21, 1860, in New Lisbon, son of John and Sabra (Emmons) Harrington. He
attended school at Laurens and was married there October 22, 1892, to Alice (Achsah)
Gregory. She died in 1916. His son, John Harrington, died in 1941. He was a teacher
and also a farmer. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Eunice Thorpe of Welcome; two
grandchildren, John Harrington, and Aulis Harrington of Laurens ... Burial will be at
Welcome."
