OBITUARY:
Died in Oskaloosa-Mrs. Lulu B. Bogard, of Montezuma, died at the Abbott Hospital in Oskaloosa, Thursday, April 20, 1922, at 12:50 pm of influenza and pneumonia, aged 35 years, 1 month. Funeral services were held at the Christian church, Saturday, at Indianapolis. The deceased was well known in Montezuma and was a sister-in-law of Mrs. William Jordan.

In Loving Memory of A Dear Friend-Lulu B. Miller was born in Adams County, Iowa, March 19th, 1887 and died at the Abbott Hospital April 20, 1922 at 12:50 noon, aged 35 years, 1 month and 1 day. She was married to Isaac Bogard, December 24th, 1904 and the greater part of her married life was spent in Mahaska County.

She united with the Church of Christ at Indianapolis in the fall of 1915 during the W. J. Lockart meeting and was baptized into Christ by Brother Lockard. She is survived by her husband, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Mildred Whitehead of Montezuma; her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. A. D. Miller of Oskaloosa; her twin brother, Lew and one sister, Mrs. Mollie Hatcher, both of the Indianapolis neighborhoods. Her funeral services were held from the Indianapolis Christian church, Saturday, April 22, at 2 o'clock, Rev. B. W. Pettit, minister of the church conducting the service. Her funeral service was largely attended by a host of her friends and neighbors. Her casket was covered with many beautiful flowers. The service was appropriate and impressive. She was a noble Christian woman and found Christ to be very precious to her soul during her eight weeks of suffering in the hospital. Her body was lowered to its last resting place at the beautiful Indianapolis Cemetery near the body of her sister Maude, who preceded her only a few months ago.
