After her retirement in 1979 she became an avid and dedicated sports fan, pulling especially for the Earnhardts in NASCAR auto racing and Duke basketball. She was a women of beauty and strength, both inside and out. GLADYS' life was characterized by her honesty, integrity and love for her family and friends. Her quiet faith saw her through the 82 years God gave her to us all. She was a member of Creedmoor United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two children, Michael S. CHAPPELL (wife Mary) and Cynthia C. Keith (husband Hal); three grandchildren, Stacey Keith Wilson, Stephen Kyle CHAPPELL, and W. Harold Keith III(Trey); two great -grandsons, Chase Michael Wilson and Nathan Tyler CHAPPELL: two step-grandchildren, Ed Neville (wife Monique) and Pam Neville: and four step-grandchildren, Hannah Neville, Reagan Neville, Kristen Cooley and Alex Ivey. She is also survived by her sister, Ora E. Jones.
