Chester S. Brewer, age 74, of Fairfield, passed away at Ft. Hamilton Vitas Hospice Unit on Thursday, October 2, 2003, at 6:45 p.m.
He was born in Grays, Kentucky, on September 17, 1929, the son of Elmer and Beulah (Dinsmore) Brewer. Chester was employed as a Die Setter at Ford Motor Company for 39 years, retiring in 1997.
He was a member of Princeton Pike Church of God where he served as an usher, was a member of the Senior Group and sang in the Amazing Grace Choir. Chester was a Kentucky Colonel. On June 20, 1949, in Barbourville, Kentucky, he married Anna Lois Cobb.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Lois Brewer of Fairfield; one son, Jack Brewer and his wife Deborah of Fairfield; his mother, Beulah Brewer; sister, Cora Brewer, both of Corbin, Kentucky;
two granddaughters, Emily and Jaclyn Brewer; and a devoted sister-in-law, Lola Waters of Fairfield.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Brewer; and son, Robert Curtis Brewer.
Funeral service will be held at the Princeton Pike Church of God, West Campus, 2470 Princeton Road, on Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ron Medley, Rev. Simon Fussnecker and Rev Rick Witt, officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice.
