Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 30, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Waid Leroy Diddle, 73, of Auxier, Ky., who passed away Sunday, Jan. 27 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky. Mr. Diddle was born Jan. 29, 1934 in Meigs County, Ohio, son of the late Oval and Sarah Roush Diddle. He was a maintenance worker with the U.S. Corps of Engineers and a U.S. Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, of Auxier; four sons; one daughter, of Rutland; four brothers; three sisters; and 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The service was officiated by Richard Williams and Southie Fannin Jr., with burial in the Gethsemane Gardens at Prestonsburg. Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home in Paintsville, Ky.
