Charley Wilson Huffer living two miles north of Sherman (KS), died Feb 25th 1905 after a lingering illiness of pneumonia. He was born in Elk County, Kansas, August 11, 1872. He was 32 years, 6 months and 14 days old at the time of his death. He united with the Brethren church in 1888, and lived a consistent Christian and was ever ready to lend a helping hand to those who were in distress. He lived an exemplary life and made friends wherever his lot was cast. He was married Jan. 20th 1902, to Mrs. Minnie Hall. He leaves a wife, one little daughter and son, one brother, two sisters a mother and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
The funeral services were conducted by Bro. Eli Wolfe at the house after which the remains were laid to rest in the McCune cemetery.
You are gone but not forgotten,
By those who loved you best;
And in that beautiful world beyond
The Savior will give you rest.
Dearest Charley we have loved you,
Our heads are bowed with grief,
But we'll try to lean on Jesus
And our souls will find relief.
