Charlie Trent Adams, Jr., was born in South Boston, Virginia on October 4,1919 and was 70 years of age at his death. He was the son of Charlie and Cora Newton Adams and departed this life on April 14, 1990 at the Halifax-South Boston Community Hospital. Receiving his education in the Halifax County school system, he entered into marriage to Florence Jackson Adams. Born to this union were four sons and one daughter. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, joining at an early age, serving faithfully with great diligence; affiliating with numerous organizations including the Sunday School Department, the Senior Choir, the Male Chorus and the Deacon Board. Other affiliations include the Masons. Leaving to cherish his memory are a devoted wife, Florence Jackson Adams; four sons - Riley Lee and Charlie Tyrone of Greensboro, NC, Trent Douglas of Washington, DC and Thomas Hert of Oxon Hill, MD; one daughter: Mrs. Frances Ferguson of the city; three sisters: Mrs. Margaret Wailer of Danville, VA., Mrs. Marion Hall and Mrs. Martha Gaines of Washington, DC; a mother-in-law, Mrs. Rosa H. Jackson of the home; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Yvonne Adams and Mrs. Polly W. Adams; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruby N. Adams; one brother-in-law, Thomas Jackson of Richmond, VA; one uncle, Fred Turntine; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, a close friend - John Mitchell, a host of relatives and numerous friends.
