MACEDONIA-Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the M. E. church in Macedonia for Abraham Braen, 77, who died suddenly at his home Tuesday afternoon. He had been in ill health for sometime suffering with heart trouble.
Mr. Braden was born in Mason county, Illinois, and came to Iowa with his parents in September, 1885. They located on a farm south of Macedonia where he lived until 1929, when he moved into town.
On Sept. 30, 1894, he married Annie Bigger of Holdredge, Neb. One son was born to them. His wife died April 11, 1936, and since that time his only sister has kept his home for him.
He leaves his son, Bruce, of Macedonia, two grandsons, Robert and James Branden; two brothers, George of Carson, and Lee of York, Neb.; one half brother, Anthony Braden of Oakland; one sister, Mrs. Mary McMillen of Macedonia.
The Rev. Mr. Huff of Oakland assisted by the Rev. C. E. McPherson had charge of the service. Vieth's funeral home of Oakland had charge of the funeral arrangements. Burial was in the Macedonia cemetery.
