GEORGE THOMAS ROBBINS, 85

George Thomas Robbins, 85, died at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at his home on R.R.5, Greensburg, where he had resided for the past 20 years.

Mr. Robbins was born Nov. 29, 1899, in Estel County, Ky., the son of Sherman and Lou Smith Robbins. He had been a member of the Liberty Baptist Church since 1937, and had taught the Men's Sunday School Class for several years. He had been an active deacon for 15 years and was made an honorary deacon in 1969. He retired from farming about 1965.

He was married April 27, 1922, in Nashville, Wis., to Olive May Bate, and she survives; with two sons: Earl C. Robbins, R.R.5, Greensburg, and L. Edward Robbins, Lancaster, Ohio; three daughters: Mrs. Noble (Eula) Curtis, R.R.9, Greensburg, Mrs. Roger (Luella) Sanson, Mesquite, Texas and Mrs. Marion (Arlene) Whipple R.R.4, Greensburg; two brothers: Zion Robbins, Dayton, Ohio; and Lewis Robbins, Johnson City, Tenn.; three sisters: Alpha Derickson, Cranden, Wis., Mrs. John (Margaret) Coons, Bedford, Ky. and Callie Chaney, Stanton, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and five grandchildren.

The services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. David Blazier officiating, and with burial in the South Park Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday.
