Talked with Bea today on the phone.
She talked a little about her childhood with her family. Donald was more her age and though close, they fought like brother and sisters often do when they were little:) Ray being older always looked after her. He wrote her often while he was in the Armed Forces. Every year their dad and mom would take them camping for two weeks at some lakes up north.
Ray would have been in High School and had a very good friend name Rex that often came along with them. Bea started dating her future husband when she was 15. She
mentioned that two of her children, Patti and Bonnie, were the same age as Ray's sons Ron and Bob. She also mentioned that her mother was of English, Irish, German, and French descent. She said her father had brown eyes and her mother had blue eyes. Bea's husband died a few years ago and she is now living in a Condo in Grand Rapids. Bea told me she had some old World War II letters that her brother Ray had wrote to her. She said I could have them, but sadly she passed away before I could get them. I would have loved to have had them.
