EUGENE P. REINECK
(1929 - 2009)

Eugene P. (Butch) Reineck, 79, of Kiel, died March 11, 2009 with his family by his side after a short but courageous battle with cancer. His life is a testament of dedication and commitment to his family and community.

Butch was born May 4, 1929 in the Town of Rhine to the late Edward and Minnie Rhien Reineck. He was a 1947 graduate of Kiel High School. He married Bernice Becker on June 10, 1950. They were high school sweethearts and enjoyed 59 years of marriage.

Butch was the longest tenured member of the Kiel Municipal Band having just celebrated his 63rd year of blowing his trombone. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ choir for as many years. For many of those years he very rarely missed a practice, a concert, or march in the band during an area parade. His trombone could clearly be recognized during the tune of Invincible Fidelity.

Butch was employed at Stoelting Inc, Kiel for 32 years, retiring in 1992. He spent many summers taking his family to cottages on Cedar Lake and Maiden Lake, watching them swim and teaching them how to fish. Fishing became his favorite past time with his sons, Mike and Paul and of course, Bernice.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents along with two sons, Steven and Michael. He is survived by his wife Bernice; daughter, Kay Nett (Gary) of Kiel; son, Paul Reineck (Shari) of Elkhart Lake; daughter, Jean Kolb (Dan) of Kohler; daughter-in-law, Joan (Mark) Aronson of Greenville. In addition, Butch was the loving grand-parent of Erin Degroot of Green Bay, Chris Hibbard of Green Bay, Derek and Mark Kolb of South Carolina, Erica & Jessica Reineck of Greenville; and step grand-children Kari Ryan of Winneconne, Tory Nett of Hilbert, and Maria Parlow of Milwaukee, Andy Aronson of Greenville; 8 great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Elroy and Delores Becker, Cyril and Cyrilla Niquette, Gerald and Geraldine Hollenbeck, and Stan and Lynn Becker. Butch also shared his life with his special brother-in-friendship, Bob Hennings, special cousin, Wallace (Margie) Doro; and his many members of the Kiel Municipal Band family.
