Colin, youngest son of Charles & Judith Lewis, was born at 5 Butleigh Terrace, Dukestown, Tredegar. His hobbies included, singing, art, photography & cycling. Colin had a warm-hearted & intuitive nature, and is remembered fondly by friends & family alike.

As with many young men in the Depression era of the 1930's, Colin sought life and adventure beyond the Welsh valleys. His career started as a floor-walker at the Woolworth's store in Tredegar; Before long he moved to Weston-Super-Mare where he obtained a position at the resort's Grand Atlantic Hotel.
By the mid-30's he was working at Croydon airport in London, during the time when aviator Amy Johnson was a frequent visitor.

Following the death of his beloved father, Charles Lewis, in Dec 1935, Colin returned to Tredegar; sadly, at this time he was diagnosed with Pulmonary Tuberculosis, and spent the next 6 months at the Cefn Mably Sanitorium near Cardiff.

As his final months approached Colin returned to the comfort of the family home in Butleigh Terrace. Nursed attentively throughout by his Mother & sister Judith; Colin finally died in Feb 1937, aged 22 years.
He was buried with his father at Lanelly Hill Churchyard, Gilwern, near Abergavenny.
