According to his daughter Freda Lee (Angelly)Neal her father came in from morning chores told family that the air was heavy and hard to breathe he said he was going to get some fresh air out on the porch when they went to call him in for meal he did not answer they looked out of the window and he appeared to be asleep as his head was resting leaned over on one of the porch posts when they touched his shoulder to wake him they discovered he had passed on they suspected of heart attack. Freda was about 18 years old at the time.
