Expires In Hospital After Long Illness

Joseph A. Werner, 65, route 1, city, conductor on the Pennsylvania railroad, died last night at 7 o'clock at Memorial hospital after a lingering illness.

He was a member of the Wheatland avenue Methodist church, the Masonic blue lodge, Tipton 33, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

He was born May 19, 1884, at Burlington, Ind.

Surviving are the widow, Elizabeth; six sons, Victor and Louis, this city; Orlando, Peru; Clarence A, Frankfort; Joseph, Dallas, Tex.; and Edwin Jr., overseas in Trieste, Italy, and three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Lane, this city; Mrs. Betty Oaks, Elcentra, Cal., and Mrs. Josephine Clary, Dallas, Texas.

He also leaves 17 grandchildren and three sisters. Mrs. Ard Puterbaugh, Idaville; Mrs. Amy Zider, Hammond, and Mrs. Jack Keller of this city.

The body is at the Chase and Miller Funeral Home, further arrangements pending.

Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen services will be held at 7:30 o'clock this evening at Chase-Miller funeral home for Joseph A. Werner, 65, route 1, Logansport, who died Friday evening.

Other arrangements are pending until further word is heard from the sons, Joseph in Dallas, Texas and Edwin Jr., in Triest, Italy.
