Janet was born in Worcester on March 22, 1944, the daughter of Wilfred J and Julia Barbara Fenner Chenard. She graduated from Commerce High School and worked for many years at Paul Revere Insurance and then at Unum Provident Corp. after the merger of the two companies. After her father died, Janet and her mother bought a house on Marland Road where they lived for many years.
Janet died at UMass Memorial after an illness. She leaves her mother; her twin sister, Janice (the wife of Dennis Burns), her sister Joan (the wife of Charles McDonald) and many nieces and nephews. At the time of her death, contributions to the American Cancer Society were suggested instead of flowers.
