Jennie Wilson was born in Putman county, Mo., April 25, 1871. At the age of six she, with her parents, moved to Stafford county, Kansas. In the year 1888 she was married to John S. Hargett. To this union two children were born--Ethel and Cosie.
She departed this life on Tuesday, March 24, 1914 at 4 p.m. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, also her mother and father, two sisters and two brothers.
How futile and unavailing are human words to give expression of sympathy and love, when a loved one is taken from our home. loved and esteemed alike by all who knew her, and mourned by all. The greatest loss will be that of her presence from the family circle.
During her illness no word of complaint was ever heard from her lips. When medical aid failed to restore health to her physical being and she knew the end was inevitable, her strong consistent christian character and steadfast faith in the Savior never wavered.
At the age of fourteen she became identified with the church and throughout her life always endeavored to live in accordance with its precepts. She was a member of the Christian church at Mt. Hope, near which place she lived at the time of her death.
To those in sorrow she was always ready to console; with those who rejoiced, she too could rejoice.
The funeral service was held from he Christian church, March 26, being conducted by the minister, and the burial in Mt. Hope cemetery.
