Died Sunday morning March 15, 2009 at the Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth. Age 101 years; Winfried was born Jan. 28, 1908 in Tuscola, MI.
He married Emma Weiss on July 10, 1932, she survives him.
Winfried engaged in farming all of his lifetime.
He was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church and served on its Board of Education.
Surviving are 2 daughters and 1 son; Arlene (Nestor) Schmitt of Libby, Montana, Kathleen (Robert) Schollmeyer and Donald (Margery) Knoll all of Frankenmuth, daughter-in-law Heidi Hill, Daytona Beach FL, 11 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Winfried was preceded in death by a son Edward and 4 sisters and 2 brothers; Olga Kern, Renate Frank, Lorna Daenzer, Meta Laux, Oswald Knoll and Herbert Knoll.
Funeral service will take place at 10:15 A.M. Thursday at the Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. and 11:00 A.M. at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church. Rev. Joel Kaiser will officiate with burial in St. Lorenz Lutheran Cemetery.
