Mrs. J. B. RAYNES, former Abilene resident, died Monday night at 8 o'clock at the home of a son, W. J. RAYNES, in Ada, Okla.
Funeral will be held here Wednesday at 3 at the Immanuel Baptist church, of which she was a member. The Rev. D. G. REID, pastor, will officiate.
Mrs. RAYNES was born in 1869 in Alabama, and came to Cameron, Tex., with her parents at the age of three. She was married in 1890 to James B. RAYNES, who died March 25, 1929. The family moved to Pleasant Hill, Taylor county, in 1900, and to Abilene in 1920. Mrs. RAYNES had lived here with a daughter, Mrs. T. W. CLACK, 118 Vine, until last July when she went to make her home with her son.
A third child, James W. RAYNES, died Aug. 31, 1944. In addition to the two children, survivors include five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
