LAST RITES HELD HERE SATURDAY FOR MRS. DONNA LAWSON JULY 6, 1961
Last rites were held for Mrs. Donna Estelle Lawson, age 86 years, Saturday, July 8th at 3:00 P.M., in the Pat Martin Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Homer Cox officiating. She passed away Thursday, July 6, 1961.
A native of Midlothian she was born November 19, 1874, the daughter of Sam C. and Margaret Witherspoon Cooper. She was a member in the church during many years of her life.
In 1897 she was married to W. P. Galiga who died the following years. In 1908 she was married to Robert J. Lawson who passed away in 1928.
Mrs. Lawson was one of the surviving students of the old Palytechnie Institute which was a well-known educational institution here more than sixty years ago.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Tom Newton of Midlothian and Mrs. A. L. DeGroodt of Dallas, and one sister, Mrs. Bonnie Meler of Durange, Colo.
Palbearers were J. L. DeDroodt, Null Swell, Eldon Shiflett, Harris Warren, Tom Deees and E. A. Page.
Interment was in the Midlothian Cemetery under the direction of the Pat Martin Funeral Home.
