Travis C. Kitchin, 85, died October 1, 2004, at Palm Gardens Nursing Home in Tampa, FL. Travis was born in Scotland Neck North Carolina, and moved to Norfolk, Virginia where he lived most of his days. Most recently he moved to live with his daughter in Melbourne Shores Florida until being transferred to Palm Garden Nursing Home in Vero Beach, Florida. He is a veteran of the Army Air Corp serving during World War II. Travis retired as a Construction Supervisor from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. He was very active in the Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge of Norfolk and the Norfolk Shrine. Survivors include his daughters, Carole Maul of Melbourne Shores, FL, and Susan Irwin of Vero Beach, FL; and son, Travis Kitchin Jr. of Tucson, AZ. Travis has six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Travis was a member of Freemason Street Baptist Church in Norfolk and a graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Steve Jolly, pastor of that Church on Saturday Oct. 9th at 2 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon. Arrangements by Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach, FL and Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, VA.
