Dolores Akita, 75, a lifetime resident of The Dalles and Dallesport, died at a local care facility in The Dalles on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007.
She was born in The Dalles on Feb. 4, 1932 to Harry and Anna (Petersen) Hoffman.
She married Fred Akita in Montesono, Wash., in August of 1964.
She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Akita, Dallesport; her daughters, Sandie Brown and her companion John Roth, Dallesport; and DeeAnn Ramos and her husband Jon, Sherman County; her sister, Connie Wood and her husband Norman of Portland; fourgrandchildren, Kristin, Karlee, Patrick and Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Wanda and Bernice, and brother Nicky.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home.
Private cremation will be held at The Dalles Win-Quatt Crematory with Smith Callaway Chapel in care of arrangements.
