Claudius Lyttleton Guynn III, 74, of the 1400 block of Tatemstown Road, died Sept. 19, 2000, at Chesapeake General Hospital.
Born in Norfolk, Mr. Guynn was the son of the late Claudius Lyttleton Jr. and Jessie LaRue Guynn. He retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility in Norfolk after 36 years of service. Mr. Guynn gave 48 years of service with the Tidewater Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of Oaklette United Methodist Church.
Mr. Guynn is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Guynn; a son, Claudius Lyttleton Guynn IV and his wife, Donna, of Norfolk; four daughters, Claudia Guynn of Chesapeak, Jacqueline Guynn of Gulfport, Miss., Dorothy Patton of Roanoke and Michel Guynn of Belmont, Miss.; four sisters, Fleda Humphries, Adel Denson and Shirley Mebane, all of Chesapeak and Jessie Gray of Lynchburg; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. today by the Rev. Sebert W. Rorrer in Oaklette United Methodist Church. Friends may visit with the family at 1528 Willow Ave., Chesapeak, before and after the service. Oman Funeral Home & Crematory is handling arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to the Tidewater Council of the Boy Scouts of America, 1032 Heatherwood Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.
