Penny Sue Mercer, age 51, of Winnfield passed away on Friday, March 20, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and worked at Kayes Food Mart for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father Mr. Floyd H. "Penn" Mercer, her daughter: Amanda Mercer, and a nephew Matt Mercer.
Penny is survived by her mother Mrs. Joy Bell Mercer; two sons: Andy Mercer and his wife Kylie, and Chris Mercer, all of Winnfield, three brothers: Jimmy Mercer and his wife "Sissy" of Winnfield, Jesse Mercer and his wife Kim of Winnfield, and Jerry Mercer and his wife Terri of Calvin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Winnfield with Reverends Duane Moreno and Randy Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
