Louise Mills was born September 11, 1913 in Plant City, Florida to Josephus and Annie (Whidden) Grantham. She moved to Inverness in 1936 with her husband Snell Austin Mills and young son Snell, Jr. Louise and her husband owned and operated Sunshine Cleaners and she later worked at the Jewel Box in downtown Inverness. She worked as Elections Clerk for Precinct 10 of Citrus County from 1958 to 1988 and also became the Clerk of Inverness City elections in 1965. Her work for the county was honored by their proclamation of September 11 as the county's official "Louise Mills Day". Mrs. Mills was a devoted member of Eastern Star since 1944.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband and son as well as her brother Joseph Grantham and sisters Jeanette King and Helen Yates.
