Arda M. Abel Service Set.

Mrs. Fred (Arda M.) Abel, 83, a former Arkansas City resident, died Sunday morning at her home in rural Winfield.

She was born June 9, 1890, at Hackney to Orlando and Nancy Dillow. A life time area resident, she was married to Fred S. Abel, on Feb. 19, 1919, at Arkansas City. She had worked at the Traveler for several years.

She was a member of the Hackney Community Baptist church, the Missionary Society and the Beaver Willing Workers.

Survivors include her husband of the home, one son, Stanley of Junction City, one sister, Mrs. William (Leona) McKinney of Independence, Mo., and three grandchildren. A niece is Mrs. Robert (Rosetta) Dowler of Winfield.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Francis Carroll.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., at the Hackney Community Baptist church. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Morris Funeral Home.
