OBITUARY - Fulton Daily Sun - May 1, 1961- SAMUEL ELLIS MUIR, 61, died Saturday night at his home on RTE.5, Fulton. Funeral services will be held at 2 Tuesday, at the Browning Funeral Home and burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Roy Pinson, pastor of the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Ralph Sydenstricker, Fred Rentschler, Gene Brown, Curtis Howison, Parker Hall and Forest Bullard. Mr. Muir was born July 23, 1905 at Hatton, the son of Samuel "Wood" and Maude Little Muir. He made his home in Fulton for a a number of years, and had operated a Kaiser-Frazier auto agency, the Fulton News Agency and the Ace Cleaners here at different times. He also was employed as a salesman for the Missouri Hybrid Corn CO., and was employed as an attendant at Fulton State Hospital at the time of his death. Survivors include a son, Samuel E. Muir Jr. and a number of cousins.
