Frank Davenport Moore, a retired logger and resident of Forest Grove, died Sunday in a Forest Grove care center of causes related to age. He was 86.

Private inurnment was held in the Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove.

Mr. Moore was born Dec. 2, 1906, in The Dalles. He lived in Green Point, Ore., until he was 8, when he moved with his family to Washougal, Wash.

He later moved to Seaside and drove a logging truck. In 1937, he moved to Sweet Home and then later moved to Vancouver, Wash. During World War II he worked for Crown Zellerbach and Willamette Paper Co.

He was married to Gladys Helen Bazille on Sept. 26, 1946, in Camas, Wash. They had resided in Forest Grove since 1953 except for a 10-year period when they lived in Dilley.

Mr. Moore retired from the logging industry in 1981. He also traveled to Mexico several times to help provide donations for the Tarahumara Indians.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughter, Colleen A. Rhodes of Oakridge, and brother, Robert E. Moore of Courtney, British Columbia.
