Ethel May passed away at her home in Independence, Mo., September 18, 1962 at the age of 71. Her death was caused by leakage of an artery to her heart. She was born near Bedford, Mo., May 24, 1891, the daughter of Daniel Beardsley and Nancy Jane Culbertson Ingram.
About 1897-1899 the Ingram family moved to a farm north and west of Bogard. Ethel received her schooling at the Van Horn school. For many years she was an office girl for a doctor at Bogard.
On June 3, 1914 she became the bride of Clarence Hamilton Cornwell. To this union 2 children were born. For several years they lived in or near Kansas City, Mo. In 1924 they moved near Tina, Mo., where Mr. Cornwell passed away Sept. 1, 1928. On February 28, 1929 she married Harry M. Little. They made their home at Coloma, Mo. in Livingston County. Mr. Little died July 12, 1939. After his passing she and her son lived at Hale and then moved to Tina, Mo.
On Oct. 7, 1950 she was united in marriage to Walter Virgil Herring. They made their home in Independence. Those she leaves to mourn her passing are Walter, one daughter Mrs. Delbert (Maudelene) Kinnison, Sr. of Hale, Mo, and son Wayne Cornwell of Independence, Mo.
Funeral services were held in Independence and grave side services were held at the Coloma Cemetery Saturday, September 22, 1962.
